Dorothy (Leasor) Smith, age 95, of Toledo, went to be with Jesus and her loved ones on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice with her son by her side. She was the youngest of thirteen children. She was born to Jacob and Pauline (Meisner) Leasor in Holland, Ohio. Dorothy waitressed for many years until retiring. She was very involved with St. Adalbert's Church; involved in the Altar Rosary Society. Dorothy was an avid gardener; especially of roses. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy loved having people over, cooking meals and entertaining.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jim; son-in-law, John Kluka; grandchildren, Colette (Eric) Dimalanta, Derek (Ann) Smith, and Kurtis (Erin) Smith; great-grandchildren, Julia, Nathan, and Evan Dimalanta; Alex Smith; and Zia and Josie Smith; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Kluka; daughter-in-law, Mary Smith; 7 sisters; and 5 brothers.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main St., Sylvania followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in church. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Toledo.
