Dorothy was the first staff pianist at WTOL radio station, where she sang and played piano regularly on her own radio show. She played classical, popular and semi-classical music on her radio show, often performing three musical shows per day. While Dorothy was at WTOL performing, she also initiated a game with her audience called, "Name That Tune." She was the first to have this sort of game on a radio show, and it was later quoted as being widely imitated. Dorothy taught piano and organ to many people over the years and she was also involved with numerous churches, acting as organist and choir director. She was recognized for her unique ability and method of teaching embellishments through chords and improvisations. Some of Dorothy's biggest accomplishments were having accompanied the Toledo Symphony and having her own musical group, Music Arts Trio, in which she was the pianist along with a violinist and cellist. The Trio furnished music for weddings, private parties, charity events and country clubs. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
