Dorothy "Nana" M. Rippel
Dorothy "Nana" M. Rippel, age 76, of Toledo died peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, January 27, 2003 in her home. She was born November 15, 1926 to John and Sadie (Kozicki) Chmielewski in Toledo. She was employed with Acklin Stamping for 17 years. Dorothy was a member of Wroblewski American Legion Post #18, Ladies Auxillary, Elks Maumee #51 and a lifetime member of Commodore Perry VFW #3338. Dorothy was also a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church. She enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching and spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years; John L. Rippel, children; Theresa (Ansel) Davidson, Michael (Margie) Rippel and Christine (Bert) Thorpe, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Sophie "Vi" Jackson and Pat McClusky, brothers; Raymond and Joseph Chmielewski and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Gerald Ceranowski. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
