Dorothy M. Waltzer

Dorothy M. Waltzer, age 87, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Ridgewood Manor in Maumee. She was born March 20, 1924 to Joe and Ethel (Repas) Gymoti in Lorain, Ohio. Dorothy was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She worked at the DeVilbiss Company, Miss Casual Apparel and Jacobson Optometry. Dorothy was a member of Christ the King Church.

Dorothy loved to spend her summers at Vineyard Lake with her family. She was probably the most known for baking her delicious pies. Last but not least, was her love of family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Thomas and infant son, Nicholas. She is survived by sons Tim (Judy) and Terry (Cathy); sister, Pat (Rod) Phelps; sister-in-law, Helen Gill; grandchildren, Kimberly Hanson, Jeff (Karen) Waltzer, Eric Waltzer, Nick (Jennifer) Waltzer, Joe (Mindy) Waltzer, Wendy O'Leary, Todd Waltzer and John Waltzer; great-grandchildren, Natalie Hanson, Lauren, J.T. and Ty Waltzer, Robin and Colsen Waltzer, Emma and Grace O'Leary.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey (419-473-0300). A Scripture Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Monday at 9:15 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
