Dorothy J. Perz, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 1, 2012. She was born on December 2, 1928 to the late Helen and Joseph Stybaniewicz in Toledo, Ohio.
Dorothy was a graduate of Whitney High School and attended classes at the University of Toledo. She spent many years as a waitress and receptionist in the food service industry. Dorothy was most proud of her volunteer work at the Eleanor Kahle Center and the Pat Miller Foundation. She was a life-long member of St. Clements Catholic Parish and their Rosary Altar Society.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Perz, a decorated WWII Veteran, in 2003. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard J. (Wendy), Scott C. (Kristin), Christine M. (Doug) Darrah, Susan L. (Erich) Pontasch and Todd R. (Meredith); sister, Marie Poplawski; twelve grandchildren, Richard J. III, Kelly, Jillian and Brett Perz, Katie and Lea Perz, Scott and Gregory Pontasch , Taylor Perz, Amanda Kommeth, Adam Darrah, Alyson DeSimpelaere; great-grandson, Dylan Aey.
The family will receive guests from 9-10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. Clements Catholic Parish, 3030 Tremainsville, Toledo. A Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio and St. Clements Catholic Parish.
