Dorothy J. Jones

Dorothy J. Jones, age 74, of Temperance, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Arbors of Waterville. She was born February 2, 1939 to Gerald and Helen (Parker) Haggard in Toledo. Dorothy graduated from DeVilbiss High School, Class of 1957. Shortly after graduation, she married Robert E. "Bob" Jones on March 19, 1960 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Most important to Dorothy was caring for her family, she was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. Most precious to her, were her daughters and her grandchildren, she always put their needs before her own. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, nursery and kitchen. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden in her back yard.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Bob Jones; daughters, Lori Worley and her children, Dylan, Jessica and Cassidy; Jennifer Ritchey and her children, Bobby, Alyssa and Abiye; sister, Judy (George) Surerus; niece, Stacy Tighe and nephew, Todd Haggard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald "Bill" Haggard, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
