Dorothy Hyman
Dorothy Hyman, 83, of Toledo, passed away Saturday June 28, 2003 at St. Anne Mercy Medical Center. Dorothy was born September 7, 1919 to Wheeler and Faye (Smith) Shilling.
She received her Bachelor of Education and taught in the Toledo Public Schools at Longfellow Elementary, retiring in 1983. She was a former member of the East Christian Church, the Federation of Teachers, and was the Building Representative at Longfellow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Dave, sister: Lois Hower, and brother Robert Shilling.
Survivors include her daughters: Donna ( Bruce) Pugsley, Diane (Terry) Shankland both of Toledo, son: Daniel (Kathryn) Hyman of Holiday, FL., nephew: Robert ( Janet ) Hower, and niece: Sue ( Charles ) Champion, grandchildren: Wendy Williams, Ross Pugsley, Brooke Birdsong, Holly Hyman, Taylor Hyman, 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 –8 P.M. at the Newcomer – Farley Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road at Talmadge (419-473-0300). Service will be held Monday at 10 A.M. in the funeral Home. Interment, Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial contribution may be made to The Toledo Fire Fighters Museum.
