Dorothy Ann Hetz, 84, of Maumee, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2016 at The Ebeid
Hospice Residence Sylvania , Ohio.
A lifelong resident of Northwest Ohio, Dorothy was born in Toledo on November 14, 1932 to
James and Lillian Stewart. She graduated from Whitney Vocational High School, and spent
many years managing the cafeteria at the former Prestolite office building. She also worked as
a waitress for Meadowbrook Catering and as a crossing guard for Maumee City Schools.
Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed numerous hobbies, including dancing, fishing, and roller
skating. However, she had a specific passion and talent for baking, cooking, and making
chocolate candies.
Dorothy was a devout Christian, who was a former member of Bible Temple and a current
member of Cass Road Baptist church.
Above all else, Dorothy cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She will be
remembered as a generous and kind woman, who was admirably strong in the face of
adversity.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Jacqueline (Mark) Cooke, granddaughter Jennifer
(Carsten) Deutschmann, grandson Loren Weith, and great-grandaughters Jessica and Lillian
Moreo. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack Stewart, sister Wanda Stewart,
and her beloved husband of 43 years Loren.
The family will receive guests on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at Noon. Burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.
