Dorothy E. Wells, 88, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 after a long illness. Born February 19, 1926, the second child of Norman and Susan Alice Curry, Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a well respected employee. A native of Rossford, Ohio and a graduate of Perrysburg High School Class of 1944 she was a member of the National Honor Society and was elected class Treasurer. Her career spanned service to communications magnate Ed Lamb, AP Parts and Rollie Schmidt. Her passion was caring for her husband, Joe and sons, Robert and James Patrick at which she excelled. She and Joe recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Her sense of humor was legendary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Jean and Mildred; and son, Robert. Dorothy is survived by husband, Joe; son, James (Jo Ellen); granddaughter, Molly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 9 – 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue Rd., Toledo with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 a.m. in church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Blessed Sacrament or Toledo Central Catholic High School.
