Dorothy E. Clunk, age 83, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio.
She was born March 27, 1926 to Theodore and Adrianne Fisher in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away shortly after her birth. Dorothy was raised by Michael and Margaret Casey.
Dorothy graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA in 1944. She married Robert W. Clunk on August 4, 1951 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pittsburgh. Dorothy was employed as an accounting manager at Bell Telephone Co. and was a sales clerk at Tiedke's Department Store in Toledo. She was a loving and supportive mother of five children and grandmother of six grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Dorothy was a long-time member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
Survivors include her five children, Edward Clunk (Monica Williams), Kathleen Clunk, David (Christine) Clunk, Dianne Valiton, Thomas (Juleah) Clunk; one sister, Rita Lewis of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, Zachary Valiton, Alexander Valiton, Emily Valiton, Olivia Clunk, Hanna Clunk, Megan Clunk; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband Robert W. Clunk; sister, Loretta Todd; brother, Richard Fisher; brother-in-law, Richard Todd; sister-in-law, Lois Fisher.
The family will receive guests, Wednesday, December 9, 2009, from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300). A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father James Auth.
