Dorothy L. Baptista, age 69, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, February 5th, 2006. She was born August 5th, 1936 to John and Elizabeth (Czirfusz) Boda in Toledo, Ohio. She was a telephone operator with the former Ohio Bell for 37 years. Dorothy was also a member of the Toledo Pioneers. She enjoyed monthly gatherings at various places with other retirees from Ohio Bell, celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and many other special occasions. Dorothy was a proud mother and grandmother, enjoying spending time with her family. She also loved working crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and playing games with the family. Dorothy will be warmly remembered by her family and friends as a huge Elvis fan.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George Baptista and sisters, Rose Boda and Ethel McCoughey. She is survived by her loving daughters, Suzi Q (Mike) Janiszewski and Tiger Baptista; grandchildren, David; Toni; LeAnn; Steffanie and Jeremy; great grandchildren, Ethan and Coryne; brother, Bob Boda; nephew, Freddie Pakulsi and beloved cat, Noel and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests Saturday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
