Dorothea M. "Sis" Dunning
Dorothea M."Sis" Dunning, age 75 of Lapeer, Michigan, formerly of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the home of her daughter. She was born April 6, 1928 to Harry and Julia Wike in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She moved to Toledo around 1952. In the 1960's "Sis" was a foster mother for newborn babies. Later she returned to Lebanon, PA. to work with her sister at the William Penn Resturaunt. In the late 1990's "Sis" moved to Lapeer, Michigan to be with her daughter Leslie. She was a lover of animals big and small.
In addition to her parents, "Sis" was preceded in death by her brother; Warden Sam Wike. She is survived by her loving children; Robert (Mary Jo) Dunning of Toledo and Leslie (James) Orr of Lapeer, MI., grandchildren; Andrea (Jeremie) Forche, Ben (Kelly) Dunning, Travis McLean, Samuel McLean and Kendra Orr and sister; Delores Levendis of Lebanon, PA.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry S. Craig. Interment will follow in Toledo memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
