Doris M. Wammes, affectionately known to all as "Mim's", age 76, of the Polish Village, passed away Monday, February 27th, 2006 in her home. She was born June 2, 1929 to Jacob and Esther (Peete) DeVries in Toledo. She was employed with the former National Bank building as an elevator starter and later with J.C. Penney. Doris was a member of the F.O.E. Ladies Auxillary #197 and volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital for many years. Doris loved playing Bingo and Line dancing. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family, friends and dog Cocoa.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Wammes. She is survived by her son, Jack L. Walton, Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon (Tracy) Walton; Angie Walton and Jack (Lisa) Walton, III and their mother, Cheri (Larry) Hipp; great grandchildren, Katie; Chloe; Caleb and Rebekah; stepchildren, Mary; Clarence; Ralph; Sue Ann and Peggy and their families. A special thank you to dear friends and neighbors, Jim, Tina and James Szymanski.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Auxillary Services at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
