Doris I. Milewski, age 89, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Charles Hospital. She had lived at Sunset House Assistance Living and most recently at Genoa Care Center. Doris was born on January 30, 1924, to the late Albert and Alma (Seeman) Frosch.
Doris worked at the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 32 years as a telephone operator. She was active with the Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneer Retirees Club. Doris was a loving and caring person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her through her kindness and generosity. At a young age, Doris helped raise her younger siblings and she developed a lifelong devotion to her family. For many years she enjoyed babysitting for her friend in her old neighborhood and she cherished their childhood memories. She also had a passion for growing flowers in her yard and she loved the beauty of nature.
Doris was the widow of Frank Milewski, Jr., who passed away October 11, 2004, and she is survived by her daughter, Judith Frosch; son, Michael Milewski and her grandog, Molly. Also surviving are three of her sisters, Jackie Collingwood, Joanne Schmidt and Barbara Scherer.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunset House and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all the love, care and compassion you gave to Mom during her illness.
The family will receive guests on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
