Doris Mcmullen

Doris I. McMullen, age 85 of Toledo passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 after a brief illness at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 12, 1925 to Lewis and Blanch (Phipps) Markley in Chesterfield Township. On March 8, 1952 she married the love of her life, Billy M. McMullen in Delta at the United Methodist Church. Together they shared 58 wonderful years of memories. Doris graduated from Delta High School in 1943. She graduated from the Cadet Nursing Program in 1947 as a Registered Nurse, which was offered through Maumee Valley Hospital during World War II. Over the years Doris worked at several places throughout Toledo, such as Mercy Hospital, Riverside Hospital and several extended care facilities. She was a former member of the Rebekah's Oddfellows. Doris was a talented seamstress and she enjoyed quilting. Until recent years she worshiped at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Billy; sons, Kevin (Debra) and Brian (Charlene), grandson, John; sisters, Irene and Catherine and brother, Leland (Luella).

At Doris's request there will be no visitation at this time.

The family would like to specially thank the staff and doctors at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the University of Toledo Medical Center for the diligent care they provided to Doris.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a charity of the donor's choice.
