Doris R. Clark

Doris R. Clark passed away on August 29, 2017. She was born July 15, 1920 to the late Frank Schisel and Violet Schramm in Toledo, Ohio.

Doris graduated as valedictorian of her class at Central Catholic High School in 1938. Upon graduation she was awarded a full scholarship to Mary Manse College. Doris had a lifelong love of learning, known as a perfectionist; she was always correcting her children and grandchildren's grammar. On October 12, 1940 Doris married the love of her life Norman W. Clark. They were married for 53 years until he passed away in 1993. Doris and Norman had huge hearts, fostering many children over the years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, tending to her garden, and crossword puzzles. She loved to travel with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She visited 46 states of the Continental U.S. and all 10 of the Canadian provinces. Doris worked as a librarian at Little Flower School, as well as, the first treasurer of the Little Flower Federal Credit Union. She held the credit union meetings in the basement of her home when it first began.

Left to cherish Doris' memory are her children, Michael (Kathy), Mark (Robin), Kathy; grandchildren, Rachel (Mark Mancuso) Clark, Louisa (Mike) Kramer, Derek Clark, Jeffery (Marslyn) Clark, Jennifer (Al) Billups, Andrew Schwirzinski, Sarah (Eric) Harrigan, and Paul Schwirzinski; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Mancuso, Dominic Mancuso, Ella Kramer, Julia Kramer, Christian Stanley, Autumn Clark, Malachi Clark, Layla Billups, Simone Billups, Al "Nando" Billups II, Alex Pitzen, Adam Harrigan, Audrey Harrigan, Anna Harrigan, Emily Schwirzinski, Adriane Schwirznski; great great-granddaughter, Scarlett Stanley.

Preceding Doris in death was her husband Norman W. Clark and son Norman J. Clark.

Family will be receiving guests Friday, September 8, 2017 for Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, 6149 Hill Ave, Toledo (419 865 2345). Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made out to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
