Doris A. Meinke

Doris A. Meinke, age 82, of Toledo, passed away Monday, June 27th, 2011 at Lake Park Nursing Home. She was born January 15th, 1929 to Carl and Clara (Neumann) Syring in Duluth, Minnesota. Doris was a English teacher for a local grade school in Minnesota for many years. She was an avid cook and was a member of the Gourmet Club in Toledo. Doris also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a Bridge Club.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Marshall Syring. She is survived by her daughters, Darla (Rob) Johnston and Diane Meinke; granddaughter, Kaylyn; siblings, Lawrence Syring, Janet Ohvall, Leone Syring and Carl Syring, Jr.

The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
