Donta Davon Marshall was born August 25, 1998, Toledo, OH, he lost his life Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Donta was born to Charles Marshall and Valerie Taylor. Donta was ambitious, persistent, grateful, kind, and exceptional. He loved his family and a good home-cooked meal, especially during the Holidays. Donta was introduced to the Lord at an early age and baptized at Glass City Church of Christ. Donta grew a passion for football young and knew he was going to make it to the NFL. Although he did not get drafted, he did not let anyone's opinion or negative talk stop him.

Donta graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School on May 27, 2017. He then furthered his education at Hocking College and Central State University. Donta graduated from Central State University on December 17, 2022, with a Bachelor of Science in Education. His favorite football team was the Cincinnati Bengals.

Donta was looking forward to traveling in April to play again for Salina Liberty in Kansas. While at home, Donta worked at Honey Baked Ham during the Easter season. He also worked as an Amazon driver and his coworkers spoke highly of him.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Valerie Taylor of Toledo, OH; brothers, Xavier Carlisle, Christopher Looney, Byron Minor, Ellex Allen, David Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Frederick Irish , Corey Marshall, and stepbrother, Willie Willison Marshall all of Toledo, OH; grandmother, Mary Golson and grandfather Lewis Golson both Toledo, OH; great grandmother, Willie Mae Looney of Clanton, AL; uncles, Roderick Golson, Ahmad Golson both of Toledo, OH, Anthony Golson of Mableton, GA, and Earl Marshall of Toledo, OH; aunts, Salondria Golson, and Connie Marshall both of Toledo, OH; nephews, Christopher Looney Jr, Caiden Looney, Frederick Marshall Jr. and Corey Marshall Jr. all of Toledo, OH; nieces, Rosa Jones and Taniylaha Deloney both of Toledo, OH; cousins, Zuri Walcott and Zahyr Walcott both of Toledo, OH, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Donta was preceded in death by his father, Charles Marshall; brother, Charles Marshall Jr.; uncles, James Marshall, W.C. Marshall, Curtis Marshall, LV Marshall, and Johnny Lee Marshall; aunts, Georgia Ree Marshall, Dorothy Cadwell Marshall, Lois Dean Marshall; and great grandfather Leo Looney.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. There will be at wake on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Church of Christ Glass City, 901 Hoag St, Toledo, OH 43607, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Following the service, Donta will be laid to rest at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
