Donnavive B. Burkett

Donnavive B. (Keefer) Burkett, age 91, of Temperance, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 in Crossville, TN at her daughter's home. She was born on July 25, 1922 to Earl C. and Maude F. (Converse) Keefer in Paulding, Ohio. Donnavive was a Sunday School Teacher for over 25 years at the Temperance Free Methodist Church. For many years she worked in the church nursery and also in the nursery at the Northwest Christian Church. Donnavive married Harry L. Burkett on October 6, 1941 in Toledo and they were married for 67 ½ years prior to his passing in 2009.

Left to cherish her memory are her twelve children, H. Daniel (Rebecca) Burkett, Sandra (Alan) Oberst, Connie (Nick) Mowery, Judy Burkett (Randy Stewart), Thomas (Mary Joyce) Burkett, Maude Burkett, Richard (Susan) Burkett, Edith (Larry) Jenkins, Rudy Burkett, Gary Burkett (Linda Williams), Janet Merritt, Brian (Cathy) Burkett; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Elwood Keefer and sister, Patricia Spradlin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry and five brothers.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
