Donna Mae (Wither) Weaver died quietly in her home the morning of December 20, 2022, at age 77.
Donna was born on August 6, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Agnes Wither. She attended Hoban Dominican High School (1963) and Bowling Green State University, where she graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and French. Later in life, Donna attended Case Western Reserve School of Law, where she graduated in 1982 at the top of her class and received every accolade and honor.
After college, Donna taught at Eastwood Elementary School, Pemberville, Ohio, where she was loved by students, parents, and colleagues alike. In order to spend more time with her children, Donna then took a job as a legal assistant with Bachman & Bachman, Bowling Green, Ohio, where she discovered that her passion and talents were in law. This inspired to her to attend law school and served as a springboard for her career.
During her legal career, Donna was a partner at Jaeger & Weaver and Nathan & Roberts, where she specialized in complex corporate bankruptcies. Donna quickly established a reputation as a top-notch bankruptcy attorney and was held in the highest esteem by the legal community. After leaving Nathan & Roberts, Donna started her own firm, where she shifted the focus of her practice to helping individuals with personal bankruptcies. The change of focus was driven by Donna's unwavering desire and commitment to helping those who needed a helping hand in their darkest hours. She continued in this manner until her retirement in 2021.
Donna was a 27-year member of AA where she served in many roles. She compassionately aided many, particularly women.
Donna was much more than her background and list of accomplishments. Donna was a wonderful wife, lover, mother, mentor, and friend to many. There is not a single individual that encountered Donna Weaver who was not positively affected by her. She will not be forgotten.
Donna's life will continue to be celebrated by her husband, Terrance Mahoney (Toledo, Ohio), son, Dean Weaver and his wife, Amy (Dzialok) Weaver (Temperance, Michigan), daughter, Debra Weaver and her wife, Clare Bartlett (Mansfield, Ohio), stepdaughter, Lauren (Mahoney) DeAcetis and her husband Denny DeAcetis (Port St. Lucie, Florida), grandsons, Garrett Weaver, Brady DeAcetis, and Cooper DeAcetis, brother, David Wither and his with Kathy Wither (Avon, Ohio), and many other friends and fans.
Lastly, Donna's devoted chihuahua, Caribou, who was never far from her side and with her until the end, will miss her terribly.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
