Donna Therkelsen, 75, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2013. She was born on June 28, 1938 to the late Betty and Chris Therkelsen.
Donna taught at Mills School in Sandusky for several years before moving to Toledo. She started working for the Toledo Catholic Diocese with strong interest in Social Justice. Donna retired after 40 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed golfing, knitting and gardening. Donna's passion was animals, she volunteered for Paws and Whiskers for many years.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mychal (Lauren) Thom; sister, Cathy (Charles) Krumholtz; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Isaiah and one-on-the-way (due in December); nieces and nephews, Jennifer (John) Harp and Rebecca Krumholtz.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 1119 W. Bancroft, Toledo. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Martin de Porres or Paws and Whiskers-Toledo.
