Donna Rose Leiner, age 68, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Ebeid Hospice Residence with loving family by her side. She was born on March 12, 1955 to Donald O. and Joan Rose (Podgorski) Bowman in Toledo. Donna graduated in 1973 from Whitmer High School. She worked as a cosmetology instructor for many years at MaChere Beauty Academy. Donna enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, walking in Wildwood and being on the go. She liked shopping, bowling, cooking, baking and cake decorating. Donna loved animals, especially dogs; she was also involved in fostering through Almost Home Dog Rescue. Later in life, Donna became strong in her faith and was baptized by Pastor Brad Wotring from Northpoint Church. Her greatest passion was the love she had for her family, especially being a Nana to her grandchildren. Donna had a heart of gold and was very giving. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Bowman and Donald Bowman, Jr. Left to cherish Donna's memory are her loving husband of 50 years, Bruce Leiner; children, Bruce Leiner, Jr., Rosemarie Leiner and Joane (Dave) Alford; grandchildren, Brooke Leiner, Braden Leiner, Seneca Rose Nye, and Tegan Nye; brother, Joe (Pam) Bowman; family, Dan "OoWee" Althaus; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Peace at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH 43560 with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
