Donna Dotson, age 70, went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 20, 1946 in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
Donna loved God, loved her family and served others. She loved gardening, cooking, writing and worship. Her life was centered around her family first, then others, as she modeled the Proverbs 31 woman. Donna honored her mother and father and cared selflessly for them in their later years.
Donna and Gary met at age 16 at a dance at the Swanton Colosseum. They have been best friends and co-laborers for Christ for 54 years. They have experienced many adventures together from founding churches and businesses to world-travel.
Donna was a great mom, not only to her daughters, but also to countless others. She was a mentor, she could cry and laugh with you, give you wisdom and encouragement. Donna adored her grandchildren, giving each one a special title that described their future destiny. She also looked forward to their annual tea-party, which was a gala event.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 49 years, Gary; daughters, Rhonda Dotson-Wise and Johanna (Hans) Neugebauer; mother, Margie Stapleton; grandchildren, Ashley, Ella, Drew, Alison, Gabe and Abigail. Donna was preceded in death by her father, Lee Madon and brother, Jimmy (Linda) Madon.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 3-8:00 p.m. at The Dwelling Place Church, 8201 Angola Road in Holland. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
