Donna A. Black

Donna Black went home peacefully to be with our Lord on August 14, 2024. She was a devoted Christian and long time member of the Monclova Road Baptist Church.

Donna was born on April 23, 1936 to William and Gladys Armstrong in Toledo, Ohio. She grew up in the Point Place area and graduated from Whitney High School. She married John Black and together they raised four children. She worked as a bookkeeper for Westhaven Drugs until they closed, then as a cashier for various companies.

Donna loved gardening, planting a variety of flowers and growing her own vegetables. She enjoyed the weeding and fussing in the yard and watching the birds on the feeders she kept full. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, especially baby blankets, and many church activities.

Donna was proceeded in death by her husband, John E. Black; son, Richard C. Black; her parents; and brothers William Jr. and Robert Armstrong. Left to mourn her loss are her children, David (Becky) Black, Lisa (Dan) Peth, and Steven (Kimmie) Black; brother, James Armstrong; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren with one on the way.

A visitation for Donna will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo, Ohio on Friday, August 23, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m., then a funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. and concluding with the internment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
