Donald Joseph Vogel, age 42, passed away on April 19, 2019. He was born on August 4, 1976 in Toledo, Ohio.
Don was a veteran of the US Air Force and served in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. He was a life-long member of the Boy Scouts of America and was very proud that his sons were following in his footsteps. Don earned his Bachelors and Masters from BGSU. He was an Instructional Designer at Lourdes University. Don loved being in nature and enjoyed camping and photography. He was currently working on becoming an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. Don was a practicing Catholic and a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. He was a great admirer of St. Francis and had the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Assisi and Rome. Don always had a smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Don is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Nancy Vogel; sons, Kenneth and Jonathan Vogel; sisters, Dana (Dave) Copciac, Danelle (Paul) Zemenski, Debbie Schmidt, Cheryl (Joshua) Sinischo, Shellie (Bryan) Oehlers, Sherry (Chuck) McDonald; brothers, Mike (Amanda) Morse, Jim Matz; many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Donald and Betty Vogel.
The family will receive guests Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio 43615. Don will be privately interred at St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, Michigan at 4:00 p.m..
