Sunday morning, August 21st, 2011 in Sylvania, Ohio, Donald Scott left this world and went to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on November 23rd, 1924 in Joplin, Missouri. His family always celebrated his birthday on Thanksgiving Day. His life was a celebration of love of for his God, his family and his friends. His family remembers him most for his rock solid faith, uncanny wisdom and amazing sense of humor.
Donald Scott was a very private person. He was a born again Christian and lived out his faith with a kind and quiet witness that impacted everyone who knew him. Donald married his beloved bride Helen over 61 years ago. He loved her deeply and always remembered to give her flowers. They have 6 children who loved and admired their father greatly. Don and Helen are also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was special to every member of his family and will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Scott; his younger sister, Katie Scott; five daughters and their spouses, Linda & her husband Patrick Cochenour , Gail & her husband Jeff Moyer, Sandra Lewis, Gwen & her husband Paul Eriksen and Bonnie Johnson; Don is survived by his son and his wife, David & Clare Scott; grandchildren and great grandchildren from the Cochenour family: grandson, Paul & his wife Rina Cochenour, great granddaughter, Maddy Long, granddaughter, Hannah & her husband Edward Soselisa and great granddaughter, Ashley Faith, granddaughter, Abbi Cochenour & her husband Aaron Bisson and great grandson, Aiden James; from the Moyer family: grandson, Brian Moyer; from the Lewis family: granddaughter, Sarah & her husband Bob Stewart, grandson, Daniel & his wife Debbie Lewis; from the Eriksen family: granddaughter, Lauren & her husband Bill Dassouki, great granddaughter Isabella and granddaughter Collette Eriksen; from the Johnson family: granddaughter, Kristina Johnson; from the Scott family: granddaughter, Tabitha, grandson, Joshua, granddaughter, Kezia.
Funeral Services for Donald were held on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral in Toledo, Ohio. Pastor Nate Elarton from Compelled Church of Temperance Michigan officiated. The family wishes to expresses their gratitude to all who attended and all who made Don's homecoming truly special.
