Donald Rettig

Donald "Don" E. Rettig, age 76, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 22, 1929 to Noah and Doris (Anderson) Rettig in Madison Twp. Don was a Tool and Dye maker for many years. He was avid card player and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his best friend and significant other of 43 wonderful years: Ruth Alsept; children: Donald (Tracey) Alsept, Jennifer Alsept; step-children: Peggy Kay Sawmiller, Barbara (Ralph) Hoffman, Peggy Sue (John) Alsept, Rubin Alsept; 3 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, November 20, 2005 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, OH (419-473-0300) where a Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Jerry S. Craig officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
