Hello, I would like to introduce you to my best friend, Don Folmer (alias Grandpa and Papa). He was born in San Francisco, CA on 2-13-47 to Walter and Margaret Folmer. He grew up in Fresno, CA. He married me (Sharry) his high school sweetheart on July 29, 1967. We were married as he completed his last two years of college at Fresno State. He graduated knowing his first child was on the way. We were blessed with two daughters, Debra and Karen. He started his work journey with the Department of Agriculture, then Ralston Purina, Hunt Wesson (Beatrice, Con Agra) and ended as a food safety auditor (self contractor) for NSF Cook and Thurber.
While on his life journey he saw both of his daughter's marry ---Deb Misson, husband Jim and Karen Friemoth, husband Rob. He also got to see and enjoy his five blessings… grandchildren-Zach (20), Justin (16) and Jarod (13) Misson; and Gabriella and Anthony Friemoth (7). He enjoyed being involved in all their activities and he loved them to the moon and back!
Additionally, he leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Walt who will be celebrating 90 years on January 3. His beloved sister Carol, husband Jerry, and only niece Shannon, husband Phil and their children Matthew and Cohen. His only Aunt Lottie, and of course me, his best friend, love, and wife of almost 46 ½ years.
Don has been a true inspiration to all. He was a 5 time Cancer survivor (22 ½ years) however, finally could fight no more. He lost the fight but won the battle on December 1, 2013. God in all his mercy called him home - no more suffering - no more "bubbles". God is good!
With all my love, Sharry
