Donald C. Homer
Donald C. Homer, age 78 of Toledo passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. He was born January 14, 1927 to Roy and Elva (Gardner) Homer in Toledo. Don was employed with Sears and Roebuck for over 30 years. He was also an umpire in the Toledo area through the Toledo Umpire Association for 35 years. He was a Navy veteran. Don was a member of the VFW Post #606 as well as a past Commander. He was a loving father and grandfather devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn; son, David and brother, Dale Homer. He is survived by his son, Dennis (Carol) Homer; daughters, Diane (John) Castellanos; Denise Fisher; Darlene (Maynard) Marsh; Debbie ( Joe) Mohler; Donna (Greg) Hite and Dee Newman; sister, Doris Homer; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
