Donald H. Bates Jr.

Donald H. Bates Jr., age 71, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Donald was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 27, 1943 to the union of the late Donald H. Bates Sr. and Anna Mae Peters. He was a graduate of Scott High School. Donald was an employee of Baron Drawn Steel Company for over 35 years before retiring. He was a dedicated member of the Jehovah's Witness since 1979. He is survived by his beloved sisters Barbara, Lois, and Laura and is preceded in death by beloved sisters Louise, Carol, and Alice.

He was married to Madelyn (Lyons) Bates where he fathered and leaves to cherish his memory four children; Donald V. Bates (Shannon), Ronald L. Bates, Donna J. Bates (fiancé Joe), Daniel H. Bates. He was the proud grandfather to 8 granchildren; Chardonay, Alicia, Joshua, Alexandria, Kailyn, Mykala, Jacyn, Amil, and 4 great grandchildren; Tayveon, Omar, Zekiah, and Jaylen and host of cousins, family, and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of the brothers and sisters of the Jehovah's Witness for their compassion, love, and support given to our loved one. Memorial Services will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall 1722 Cherry St. at 4:00 p.m.
