Donald T. "Don" Fox, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on January 31, 1935 to Harold and Edna Fox in Midland, Ontario, Canada. Don started detailing ships in Midland Shipyard and then went on to Avro in Toronto where he detailed the airplanes. Don then moved to Toledo and worked at Samborn, Steketee, Otis and Evans for 11 years as a structural detailer. He also worked at Art Iron part-time. Don retired from detailing and became an independent coin dealer with Clyde Englehardt establishing the Toledo Coin Exchange and Fox Numismatics. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, playing cards, and horses. Don will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marlene Fox; children, David (Linda) Fox and Kathy (Chris) Ralston; grandchildren, Amber (David) Jones, Jeremy (Hailey) Black and Hosanna (Jensen) Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Seth, Alexis, Jaxon, Logan, Ella, Jude and one on the way; sister, Carol (Albert) Stewart; and many extended Canadian family members, in-laws and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 5 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, (419-381-1900).
