Donald R. Farnsworth Sr.

Donald Ray Farnsworth Sr., 75, of Toledo, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at his home. Donald was born April 15, 1947 in Toledo to Roland and Kathryn (Walter) Farnsworth.

Here's a little diddy about Don and Diane. He attended Rogers High School. He met Diane at the skating rink, where they began their journey together. Donald was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 20 for many years, where he served as a Union Stewart. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling. Donald loved watching Ohio State Buckeye and Green Bay Packers football games. Donald enjoyed internet poker, but nothing beat taking Diane to the casinos, where they would play poker together. In the summer, he rented a cottage at Devil's Lake, where him and his family created memories together. He loved going to amusement parks, with his family, especially Cedar Point and Kings Island. Donald had a passion for country and bluegrass music and loved listening to it during his drives to the metro parks with his dogs, Buster and Molly. Nothing was more important to Donald than his family, he attended and never missed his grandchildren's school and sporting events. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whom will be dearly missed by all who knew him. It's not goodbye, it's see you later...

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Tamara L. (Ron, Sr.) Woods, Tracy L. (Yassine) Amami, Donald R. Farnsworth, Jr. (Nicole Gulau), Tanya A. Farnsworth (Fritz); grandchildren, Hanneen, Kassim (Bridgette), Rico (Katie), Mikey (Madison), Keenan, Emilee, Adam, Brianna, Seth and Layla; step grandchildren, Ronnie, Austin and Ryan; great grandchildren, Jay, Jayce, Aliyah, Owen and Aiyana and step great grandsons, Royce and Kyle; sister-in-laws, Emma Farnsworth and Kimberly Packo-Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane (Way) Farnsworth, whom he married on July 8, 1967; brother, Rodney Farnsworth; brother-in-law, Doug (Yvonne) Booth; sister-in-law, Deborah Simpson; two baby Farnsworth grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43614, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Sharing Memories will be on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the funeral home, at 10:00 am. Donald will be laid to rest, next to his wife, at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lucas County Humane Society.
