Donald J. Curtis, passed away December 1, 2009 at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 28, 1928 to Charles and Mary (Krieger) Curtis in Toledo, Ohio.
Donald graduated from Central Catholic High School. He later attended the University of Toledo. Donald served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart for his Military Merit. For over 30 years he was employed by the State of Ohio Department of Transportation, working in the surveying and engineering department. Donald was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and also the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy; children, Bryan (Carolyn) Curtis, Brenda L. Curtis, Bradley (Melissa) Curtis, Cynthia Curtis Frye; beloved grandchildren Amanda, Jack, and Georgia; sister, Janet William Kroncke; brother, Raymond (Carol) Curtis.
The family will receive guests 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Fr. William Rose. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
