Donald Caito

Donald L. "Don" Caito, age 83, passed away Sunday, June 5th, 2011 in Toledo. He was born May 6, 1928 to August and Tena (Lynch) Caito in Freeport, Illinois. Don married Nancy J. Caito in Belvidere, Illinois on November 6, 1954 and she preceded him in death on June 1, 2003. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, then studied at the University of Iowa, and until his passing he remained a passionate Hawkeye's fan. Don retired from Maumee Valley Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. after many years of service.

Don was very proud of his Italian heritage and over the years he had been an active member of The Sons of Italy, Italian American Sports Club and Alba Club. He enjoyed a good game of golf with his friends at Spuyten-Duyval Golf Course where he was a member. Don was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tim (Katie) Caito, Terry Caito, Tami Caito, Todd (Tammy) Caito and Traci (Mark) Jeffrey and twelve grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6149 Hill Ave. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church.
