Donald "Don" Ralph Ayres, of Petersburg, Michigan, passed away on April 20th, 2022 after a long illness. He was born September 12th, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Donald and Alice (Tigges) Ayres.
He received a Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, and a Master's Degree from Tarkio College in St. Louis, Missouri. Don had a lifelong interest in history, model railroading, and genealogy, and worked for many years at Teledyne CAE in Toledo.
He married Constance L. Reed on August 25th, 1962 in Fort Wayne. The couple would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary in August. In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Phillip and Steven; by two infant sons, David and Darren; and two great-grandchildren, Jensen and Holly.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his daughter, Kristin; two sons, Phillip (Krista) and Don (Lori); and grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Jacob, Alex (Heather) and Ryan, as well as great-grandchildren Jasmine, Laiyanna and Dean.
