Donald A. "Don" Cramer, age 89, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 6, 1924 to Harold and Hallie (Phillips) Cramer in Toledo. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly in WWII. He met the love of his life, Vera Laschenko in Ulm, Germany while serving and she became a war bride. Don enjoyed to bowl and golf with his son-in-law and friends. He loved nothing more than the time spent with his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren. Don will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Vera Cramer; daughters, Lili (Paul Blonkowski) Hibbard, Nona (Paul) Pawlowicz, Annette Gernheuser and Lynnette (Michael) Bugaj; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve), Heather (Taylor), Gabrielle (Spencer), Matthew (Leah), Allison (Sean) and Mike; great-grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Hazel, Maxwell, Luke, Noah, Mia, Aidan, Reece and Graham; sister, Patricia Brunner; and many other family members and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Fisher and Norma Pratt.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
