Dolores E. Heilman

Dolores E. Heilman, age 87, of Oregon, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 7, 1934 to Florence and Joe Saverese in Toledo. Dolores was a 1952 graduate of Waite High School. She married her soul mate Robert G. Heilman that year and they were married 38 years before his passing in 1990. Dolores worked at Teidke's for many years, then Minnesota Woolens, Woodville Appliance, then Bridal Aisle at the Woodville Mall. After leaving Bridal Aisle she and Robert opened B&D Vinyl and owned and operated it for over 20 years. Dolores was a longtime member of First St. John's Lutheran Church and loved the Lord. Dolores was very active in her community and a member of the Red Hat Society, Girl Scouts, Christian Women's Association, the Professional Women's Association and the Stock Club. She was also the former Polish Festival coordinator and the coordinator of the arts and crafts of Luther Hills. Dolores volunteered at Lutheran Home gift shop in Oregon as well. She loved gardening, baking, swimming, sewing and arts and crafts. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her entire family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; longtime companion, Tom Chadwick; and siblings, Andy "Lyle", Jim and Donna. Left to cherish Dolores' memory are her loving children, Vickie Brown (Willie), Larry (Teri) Heilman, Mark (Dawn) Heilman and Renee Lester; Tom's children, Kathy Wielfaert, Regina Chadwick, and Doug Chadwick; grandchildren, Terry Brown, Tory Thompson, Blake Heilman, Mark Heilman, James Heilman, Kaitlin Heilman, Genah Babcock, Sean Lester and Madison Lester; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kay Heilman; half siblings: Diane Austin and Bea Lamar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Private family Celebration was held honoring Dolores' wishes. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-392-9500) assisted the family with professional services.
