Dimitrios Nicholas Kourkouliotis, 30, formerly from Sylvania, Ohio passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident in Sarasota Florida December 21, 2008.
He was born July 1, 1978 to Joan (Gootee) Kourkouliotis and Gus Kourkouliotis.
Demitri "Nick" grew up in Sylvania, Ohio and was a graduate of Sylvania Northview High School. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, snowboarding, and riding his motorcycle. Halloween was his favorite holiday and he was always the life of any gathering. While living in Florida he pursued a modeling career and worked as a landscaper.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents in Greece and Marge and Claude Gootee of Toledo. He is survived by his mother Joan (Gootee) Kourkouliotis, father Gus Kourkouliotis, loving uncles, Mike Gootee, and Mark Gootee; sisters, Kathleen Heisler and Claudia Gootee; sisters residing in Florida, Helen, Maria, and Dina Kourlouliotis, brothers, Norman (Kim) Briney; Sean Briney and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many dear friends.
The family would like to thank everyone in Sarasota especially those from his favorite coffee shop, Café Fuel, for all they have done in honoring and remembering Dimitri. He touched many hearts and lives and he will be missed deeply.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
