Dianna Marie Gottschalk (Iwinski) passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022, after complications from a stroke at the age of 67.
She was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy, class of 1972, and then from University of Toledo years later with an Associate degree in Accounting. She met and married Kurt during her time as a Dietary Aid for Parkview Hospital. She enjoyed going on tours with him in their antique cars. She was a cook for Cooker's Restaurant and Bravo. She was an active parishioner for many years at St. Catherine's of Sienna, where she volunteered for festivals, fish fries, lunch room/recess monitor, Boy Scouts of America Troop 25 and worked in the school's after school latchkey and summer programs as an assistant caregiver.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, along with cooking, crocheting, crafting and writing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kurt S. Gottschalk; parents, Mary (Cappelletty) Iwinski and Robert S. Iwinski and brother-in-law, John Gottschalk.
She will be missed by her loving children, Erik Gottschalk and Laura (Trevor) Rawleigh; grandchildren, Ian and Tessa; siblings, Theresa Newton, Julie Kanaval, Bob (Becky) Iwinski, Mike Iwinski, Barb Chaney, Tim (Janice) Iwinski, Peter Iwinski, and Paul (Donna) Iwinski and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Her family would like to thank the staff at ProMedica of Sylvania Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sincere Palliative Care and Hospice of Northwest Ohio, for their love, compassion and support that they gave during this time.
A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022, at St. Catherine of Siena, 4555 N. Haven Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43612, at 10:00 am.
