Diane M. Skulas, age 54, of Toledo, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1950 to Wallace and Patricia (Carbines) Thornton in Detroit, Michigan. Diane was an instructor at Bedford High School for many years, and then went on to work as the GRADS Instructor at the Penta Career Center for over 15 years. She was an active volunteer at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, in Sylvania. Diane loved kids and will be missed dearly by all.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Myron Skulas; sons: Mark and Paul Skulas; brother: James Thornton; special friend: Marsha; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Greg Thornton.
There will be no visitation or services per Diane's request. In her honor there will be a traditional Mercy Meal held on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at the St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 4940 Harroun Rd., Sylvania, OH 43560. The Newcomer Funeral Home, (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
