Diane M. Podgorski, 77, was called home on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family at Heartland of Perrysburg. Diane was a former parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church and most recently a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she enjoyed the Cursillo Movement. Diane was a world traveler, and loved playing her luck at area casinos. Diane had a passion for life, but her great passion was simply being the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister that she could.
Left to cherish in Diane's memory are her loving family, son, Jeffrey (Jackie) Podgorski, daughters, Cynthia Briscoe (Jim Jenner), Rebecca (Chris) White and Sara Podgorski; grandchildren, Angela (Jeremy), Cheryl (Jesse), Adrienne (Shawn), Courtney, Blake, Brett, Jordan and Kason; great- grandchildren, Jade, Madison, Christian, Brooklyn, Laiken and one expected later this year; step great-grandchildren, Taylor, Abby and Taylor; siblings, Sr. Joan Jurski, Shirley Rouppas, Sharon Dapkus, Donald (Gerlinde) Jurski and Ronald (Sue) Jurski. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Gerald Podgorski, sister, Roslyn Wilson, son-in-law James Briscoe, niece Denise Jurski and granddaughter Nicole Morgan.
The family will receive guests Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday, May 16, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church where the family will receive guests at 11:30 am at the church.
Special thank you to her sister, Sharon, for the loving devotion she provided to Diane during her final days.
