Diane L. Straka

Diane L. Straka, age 72, of Toledo, passed away June 6, 2016 at her home. She was born April 22, 1944 in Toledo to Ferdinand and Charlotte (Marok) Ladriere. Diane began her career at Gulf States Paper as a Union Steward. She was then employed with the Toledo Public Schools for more than 20 years, serving as a Secretary at DeVeaux Junior High School. Diane was an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed bowling and traveling. The greatest love of Diane's life was spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Michael.

Diane is survived by her son, Charles P. Straka; grandson, Michael Straka; sister, Shirley (Robert) Myers; brother-in-law, Richard (Marge) Straka; nephews, Robert (Michele) Myers Jr.; Ronald (Sarah) Myers; nieces, Diana (John) Short; Susan (Mike) Connett; and god-daughter, Lori Manoff, and many other beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Straka.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:00 am. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Shriner's Hospitals in Diane's memory.
