Derek A. "D.A." Bromley passed away January 25, 2015. He was born on October 23, 1935 to William and Josephine Ashburner Bromley in Liverpool, England. Both parents and his brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
Once completing his apprenticeship as a Brassfinisher, he worked throughout England in various capacities. In 1967 Derek immigrated to Canada, settling in Amherstburg, Ontario as a Tool Maker. In 1968 he began working for Ford Motor Co., Woodhaven, later transferring to the Maumee Stamping Plant as a Tool and Die Maker. On March 5, 1993 Derek became a naturalized citizen. However, holding dual citizenship, England was his first love. In 2001, he retired after 33 years of service.
Derek is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vergerine "Verge"; sons, Steven (Kristine), Mark (Tammy); step-son, Lamont Phillips; grandsons, Andrew, Alex, Michael and Christopher Bromley, Brandon Howard and Alex "Mitch" Hepler; granddaughter, Ashley Bromley; precious great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace; brothers, William (Ava) and John; a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests from 4-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
