Denver Vernal Smith Jr., age 72, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital. Denver was born on April 27, 1947 to Denver and Ruth Smith. He was employed at Doyle Manufacturing and Basilius Inc. as a Foreman of Injection Molding before retiring. Denver was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time working in his yard. He also enjoyed watching NCIS, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and Western movies. Denver was an avid country music fan; Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Shania Twain being just a few of his favorites. In his free time he also liked working and driving around in his trucks. Most of all Denver was a devoted grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Denver was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 31 years, Maria (Gomez) Smith, children; Denver (Annette) Vernal Smith III, Tracy (Jon) Smith, Jeamie Smith, Marivel Gonzalez, Eliza (Robert) Guerrero, Julian Gonzalez, Jr., and Ambrosio Gonzalez, sister, Janet (Bob) Smith, brother, Rick (Judy) Smith, grandchildren; Cassandra (Martin) Sandoval, Catrina (Kody) Robinson, Robert Guerrero, Cesar Guerrero, Santiago Guerrero, Danielle (Myer) Muszynski, Bradley Kurtz, Jacob Smith, Cody Bolton, Briana (Miguel) Cruz, Leah Smith, and many more grandchildren along with 11 great grandchildren.
Per his wishes services will be privately held.
