Dennis Arthur Fehr, 78, passed away on December 8, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born September 12, 1942 in Oak Harbor to Herbert and Eunice (Snider) Fehr. For many years Dennis held the record for being the smallest surviving baby born at Magruder Hospital weighing two pounds and ten ounces. He went on to graduate from Oak Harbor High School, Stautzenberger College, and University of Toledo Community College primarily studying drafting and electronics. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Puerto Rico from 1962-1966. He worked in the drafting and design field at several local companies including Toledo Scale, Schindler Elevator, and AVCA corporation.
Dennis loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. He also spent time reading, playing euchre and bowling. In addition, he was an avid beer can collector, with a collection in the thousands. He was active in the American Legion post 114 in Oak Harbor, the Buckeye Beer Can Collectors Club, Toledo Ski Club and the Toledo Sailing Club.
He is survived by his son, Steven Fehr, siblings Phillip (Jane) Fehr and Linda (Robert) Meilink, three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Eunice Fehr.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Newcomer SW Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo (419-381-1900). Memorial donations can be made to the American Legion Post 114 in Oak Harbor or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
