Denith H. Whinnery, Jr.

Denith H. "Denny" Whinnery, Jr., age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Iowa and "Bud" had polio as a child and lost use of his leg. He met his bride of 59 years, Ruth in Toledo. Denny owned Laskey Barbers with his son Denith III and daughter, Rozella. Denny loved to travel with his family. He even went to Ireland and kissed the Blarney stone. Denny was a wonderful family man. At any gathering he became the life of the party. Denny loved to paint, read and spoil the family pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Denith Sr. and Rozella; brother, Dwain Whinnery; and great-grandson, Legend. Denny is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth; brother, Donald (Carole); son, Denith III (Sue); daughter, Rozella Lowe; grandchildren, Basil and Miranda Lowe; along with many more family members and friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 5:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Shriners Hospital or ProMedica Hospice.
