Denise Marion Leist, 65, of Toledo, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2019. She was born on June 23, 1954 in Sandusky, Ohio to Robert and Mary (Marolda) Stein. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and went on to pursue a successful career in cosmetology.
Denise will be remembered for her incredible thoughtfulness, generosity, and creativity and the immeasurable love she lavished on family and friends. She was a devoted Christian who shared her faith with anyone who needed encouragement, and her true joy in life was found in her family. Her dedication to training her children up in the ways of the Lord has made them into who they are today, giving them a legacy to pass on for generations to come, and the love she found later in life with husband Bobby was a source of great happiness and wonderful stories.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jordan; brother-in-law, Thomas Horn. Leaving to treasure her memory are her beloved husband and teammate, Bobby Leist, Jr.; children, Joel (Leah) Parker and Ashley (Patrick) Wald; mother-in-law, Violet Leist; sister-in-law, Debbie (Jim) Hawkins; Bobby's children, Robert, III, Angelo, and Toni Marie Leist; grandchildren, Julia Marie, Jordan Robert, Parker Michael, and a grandson on the way; sister, Roberta "Bobbie" Horn; nieces, Kristin (Scott) Monroe and Alyson (Ricardo) Reinoso; and many special family members and friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church, 1520 S. Reynolds Rd., Maumee, OH 43537 with gathering in church from 10 – 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
