Jurski
Denise "Deejay"
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end
The Fight is Over! And Victory is Hers. Victory because she never backed down or wavered in her resolve. On June 21, 2008 Denise Jurski, 42, of Toledo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, after a three year courageous battle with cancer.
Denise was born on October 8, 1965 to Ronald and Sue Jurski. She grew up in the Polish Village where she was a proud member of St. Adalbert Parish, where she belonged at the time of her death. Denise graduated from Central Catholic High School. She then continued her studies at Purdue University, where she took advantage of an opportunity to study abroad in England. Denise finally received her Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1989.
Denise's first job in Social Work was in Toledo at Lott Industries. She then spent twelve years in Florida working at the Children's Home Society, continuing her calling as a Social Worker. In 2002 Denise returned home to Toledo and took a job at the Sunshine Children's Home in order to watch her nieces and nephew grow up.
Denise was an avid science fiction fan. It was through this passion she touched many lives as part of the Gateworld Online Community. She cherished these friends as they did her.
Denise leaves to cherish her memory, including her parents, Ronald and Susan Jurski, of Toledo; grandmother, Genevieve Jurski, of Toledo; sister, Kellie (Raymond) Jurski, of Curtice; brothers, Ronald (Jackie) Jurski, of Perrysburg and Matthew (Lindsey) Jurski, of Sylvania. She leaves a special love for her nieces, Kayleen and Emma; and nephew, Christopher.
