Delores E. "Dee" Murphy, age 95, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2020 at The Glendale. She was born on October 3, 1924 to William and Margaret (Harris) Murray in Detroit, Michigan. Except for a few early years in Detroit, Dee considered herself a lifelong resident of Toledo and always called it home. She worked at Tiedtke's in downtown Toledo where she met Ronnie, the love of her life. They were married in October 1948 and spent almost 64 wonderful years together before his passing. Dee's smile, spirit and caring nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Ronnie; brothers, Earl and James Murray; and sister, Wilma "Sue" Conrad. Dee left to cherish her memory; her brother, Bill Murray; her loving daughters, Sharon (Ben) Boyer, Shirley (Charles) Loar, Donna (Mike) Browning and Amy (Glen Jr.) Teems; grandchildren, Carly (Eric) Burke, Eric (Wendy) Ladd, Glenn III (Sarah) Teems and Amanda (Kyle) Lee; great-grandchildren, Alex, Danielle, Austin, Madison, Nathaniel, Logan, Layla, Faith, Justin, Michael, and Melissa; great-great-granddaughter, Amelia Grace; she was also blessed with step-grandchildren Michael, Brian, Chad and Christopher; step-great-grandchildren, Maya, Harper, Tessa, Jude, and Mia; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
There will be no visitation for Dee and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date due to the current situation surrounding the coronavirus. Thank you for understanding during this difficult time. Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, Toledo (419-381-1900) assisted the family with professional services.
The family would like to give all of the staff and caregivers at The Glendale, Dee's home for the last 8 years, a very special thank you. We are also truly grateful to Elara Caring Hospice, especially Joanie, Janice, Rich, Becky, Kim, Roxanne, Courtney and Rita, the hands on team, for all of their love, care and support given to Dee and her family.
