Delmar E. "Del" Pheils, age 74, of Toledo, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on May 4, 1938 to David Sr. and Selma (Pettingill) Pheils in Toledo. Del was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly. He was a successful business owner of Del's Locksmith for over 30 years and prior to becoming a locksmith he was employed with Dana Corp. for 13 years. Del was also in good standing with the local Masonic organizations. He enjoyed bowling, camping and loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Pheils. Del is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Nancy Pheils; children, Matthew Pheils and Martha (Christopher) Cluckey; 4 grandchildren whom he adored and will always remember their Papa, Dakota Sherrick, Nicholas, Brittiana and Isabella Cluckey; brother, David (Joanne) Pheils, Jr.; loyal cousin, Robert Sawade; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
